My Training & Approach
My training, coaching, and philosophy are rooted in bio-individuality—and so is my style of cooking.
This means that when you coach or cook with me, you won’t find a one-size-fits-all online program, rigid eating or exercise plan, or expensive shopping list.
Together, within the framework of my training and scope of practice, we’ll co-create a program that focuses on your unique bio-individuality, aligns with your lifestyle, and supports your wellness goals.
These goals may include:
– Cooking at home
– Moving more
– Increasing energy levels
– Sleeping better
– Supporting hormone health
– Lowering glucose levels
– Reducing inflammation
– Preventing/managing chronic conditions
– Crowding out simple carbs and sugar
– Managing stress
I work with my private clients virtually and in-person and find that the best results develop over a period of three months— with sessions held every other week.
While you will drive the agenda, we will work within the following framework:
1. Your Complimentary Intro. Session:
First, we’ll connect for a 30-minute introductory session.
This casual conversation will allow us to get to know each other; outline what is – and what is not – part of a health coach’s scope of practice; and briefly discuss your health concerns and goals. There is no cost for this session.
If we decide to work together, I’ll ask you to review and sign the client-coach agreement, and set up your payment method and schedule. Completing these steps will allow us to focus solely on your health and wellness from Day 1!
2. Your Six Sessions:
Next, we’ll meet for your first, 60-minute session.
During this time we’ll review your health history (you’ll choose how much, or how little, you’d like to share), take a snapshot of your primary foods, and develop your wellness vision.
Your wellness vision, which may evolve as we move through the coaching process, will shape your goals and guide your remaining five, 45-minute sessions.
Unlike other healthcare appointments, you will drive the agenda and be coached to reconnect with your body’s intuition.
This is an important point of distinction:
- As a health coach, I cannot diagnose, treat, prescribe/de-scribe, make caloric intake recommendations, or modify a treatment plan.
- I can, however, support you to make sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes, increase self-awareness around your health, and advocate for yourself when working with your healthcare providers.
3. Your Support System:
Throughout the coaching process I will support you in a way that works best for you, and coach you in a way that aligns with how you best learn.
For example, some of my clients request weekly email check-ins, while others ask me to share resources (books, podcasts, recipes, articles, experts, etc.) Some keep me updated on their progress as a way to hold themselves accountable. And some focus their sessions on skill development (cooking, pantry editing/stocking, meal planning, etc.)
Again, your bio-individuality will play an integral role in all facets of your program.
As we conclude our three months together we’ll celebrate your successes, recognize (and thank!) the challenges, and map out a plan to keep you in action—whether on your own, or through the continuation of our work together.
To learn more about becoming a private client, please schedule a no-cost, no-obligation intro. session.
I look forward to meeting you!
